Abstract
L. V. Uspensky questioned the truth of one of the histories of Herodotus in the description of the first experience in the definition of the ancient language on the Earth. However, a philologist did not take into consideration one detail, which the authors of the work pay their attention to. This detail entirely excuses Herodotus.
