Abstract
The article considers the opening of schools on the railroads ofWestern Siberia at the initiative of the Ministry of Railways at the end of the XIX century. The railway were necessary specialists. Organized school was the first link of the General education railway children before entering vocational schools. The initiative of the Ministry of Railways was supported by the departments of the Central Siberian and West Siberian Railways. Open educational institutions took various forms, using the normative base of urban and rural schools.
