Abstract
The article deals with a brief history of research on the historiography of the early Neolithic Volga. In article analyzed the possibility of Neolithic monuments dating from the fragments of pottery. There is a question of the oldest Neolithic sites of the Lower Volga and stratigraphy Varfolomeevkа site.
