THE RUSSIAN AGRICULTURE IN CALIFORNIA IN THE FIRST THIRD OF THE XIX CENTURY

Abstract
This article is devoted to consideration of such problem as agriculture development in the Russian California in the first third of the XIX century. On the basis of the analysis of set of historical sources the author came to the conclusion that, despite some progress of the Russian agriculture in this region, it was doomed to a failure because of a lack of the earth suitable for processing, and small number of capable workers to agriculture.
