Abstract
On the territory of Belarus is forest, which has long been known as a unique protected area in Europe. The history of this region has more than one hundred years. The name of this region - Bialowieza Forest. Over the centuries the forest has gone through a lot. Many times to change the intensity and method of operation of its natural resources. At one time, is strictly forbidden to deforestation and hunting, to another – carried out all kinds of deforestation, including solid, hunting for all kinds of animals. During the wars and uprisings forest forest served as a haven for guerrillas and insurgents. This series of articles is dedicated to exactly this forbidden places. The aim is to study the Bialowieza Forest in the XIX century. and its role in the natural and socio-political development of Belarus. In this paper we will consider the use of the forest in the first decade of the XIX century. The work is based on archival materials from the collections of the National Historical Archive in Grodno, as well as on historical sources.
