The article deals with the participation of the Kazanskiy regiment in the military campaign of 1814. In early December 1813 the corps of P.A.Tolstoy was sent from Dresdenon siege of Magdeburg. Kazanskiy and 3-d Nizhegorodskiy home guard regiments were left to protec tDresden. The liberation of Dresden from Napoleon troops was greeted by dwellers of Saxony. In Germany the attitude to Russians as liberators was occurring everywhere. After the end of the war Kazanskiy regiment continued its garrison duty up to 10 September 1814. In February 1815 the home guards from the Vyatka and Kazan provinces returned to their homes.
