Abstract
The article is devoted to a retrospective review of the phenomenon of severe child abuse in the UK. On the basis of many English-speaking sources, the author examines this problem in different historical periods of development and formation of the country, shows the dynamics of the British society to the forms and methods of family education and schooling of children. Showing the most characteristic features of the British specificity prepare children for successful socialization, which has a very strict and sometimes violent child.
