Abstract
The article is devoted to the mysteries of the place names of one of the villages of Nizhny Novgorod – Anhydrous. The study of toponyms is a bridge between past and present. The origin of some of them is transparent, and the history of others can keep a secret. We cannot allow these lost names, contains information on life, culture and mentality of our ancestors.
