Abstract
The article considers the problem of stay of prisoners or war from the Great Army of Napoleon in the Vyatka province in 1813-1816. According to orders of central and military power local authorities the prisoners were engaged in work. Local inhabitants displayed different attitude to prisoners of war – from hostility to sympathy and material help. In general, theVyatkaprovince had good facilities for social adaptation of prisoners or war.
